Melinda Caspersz

Melinda has a strong alignment with the not-for-profit sector, having held various positions over the last 15 years. She has strong skills across all governance, financial and operational management. Her recent role as Operations and Membership Manager of a peak body in allied health included responsibility for: membership recruitment, retention and satisfaction; communications including website and database development and social media; finance through to annual audit and special projects including Awards of Excellence and scholarships.

A particular strength Melinda offers is the analysis and streamlining of administrative procedures through the utilisation of online systems, leading to the effective use of resources and a reduction in duplication and errors that can occur in manual systems.  She has extensive experience in developing and delivering professional development activities as well as managing the delivery of government funded projects.

Melinda has a Graduate Certificate in Management and a Certificate in Corporate Governance (NFPs) from Chartered Secretaries Australia, and is studying towards an MBA.


Elaine Trevaskis

Elaine has more than 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, including transforming a small national allied health association from a volunteer-run organisation to the acknowledged peak body for the profession.  She has strong skills in stakeholder communication and engagement, positioning an organisation to maximise its competitive advantage, and delivering desired outcomes through the structured development and implementation of initiatives.

A career highlight is building sustainability of an organisation, including growth in income from professional development activities from less than 15% of total income to around 50%. Profitability from flagship activities enabled this association to invest in activities to improve access for geographically diverse members as well as fund important policy and advocacy initiatives. A direct result of these initiatives was membership growth which averaged more than 10% per annum.

Elaine has previously held the position of Treasurer/Director at both Professions Australia and Allied Health Professions Australia. She has presented to not-for-profit audiences both nationally and internationally. Her recent roles advisor for a health-related industry association, policy writing and working with an association in the built environment sector to build membership and enhance their sustainability through professional development activities. She holds an MBA, is a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Governance Institute of Australia.
